Batsquatch is a winged creature that haunts the area around Mount St. Helens in Washington, and its name combines "bat" and "sasquatch." It stands about nine feet tall, with a dog-like face, yellow eyes, and leathery wings. Many people connect it to the mountain's 1980 eruption, as if the blast set it loose. The best-known encounter came in 1994, when a teenager's truck stalled on a road near Buckley and the creature dropped down in front of him before flying away.
