The Flatwoods Monster haunts the hills outside Flatwoods, West Virginia, where it first appeared in September 1952. A bright object fell from the sky onto a nearby farm, and a group of townspeople led by a woman named Kathleen May climbed up to investigate. They found a towering figure with a glowing, spade-shaped head that hissed, glided toward them, and gave off a foul mist that left them sick for days. Every one of them told the same story afterward.
