Pixies are small, childlike fairies from the moors of Devon and Cornwall in southwestern England. They love to dance outdoors through the whole night, gathering at ancient places like stone circles and burial mounds. Their favorite trick is played on travelers who wander too near after dark: the pixies turn them around and around until they lose the path they know by heart, a state the locals still call "pixy-led." They mean no real harm by it; they simply enjoy watching you wander.
