Bedrohung

The púca comes from Irish folklore, where it is a shapeshifter before it is anything else. It turns up as a black horse with yellow eyes, or a goat, a cat, a dog, a hare, sometimes as a man who kept the ears and tail. In horse shape it offers a ride, then runs the country all night with whoever was fool enough to climb on. It speaks in a human voice and gives sound advice as often as a bad night. After Samhain it spits on the blackberries still in the hedges, and nobody picks those.
