The cactus cat prowls the deserts of Arizona, around Tucson and Prescott, and it has a taste for liquor. Its forelegs carry sharp, blade-like bones, and at night it uses them to slash open the base of every cactus it passes. After a few nights it circles back to drink the juice, which has fermented inside the wounds, and then it staggers across the desert screeching, thoroughly drunk. By morning it has sobered up, ready to start again.
