Herne the Hunter haunts Windsor Forest in Berkshire, England, riding through the trees with a set of stag's antlers growing from his head. He drags rattling chains behind him and is sometimes followed by a pack of ghostly hounds. At midnight he appears beneath a particular old oak, where he blasts the trees and sickens the cattle. According to legend, he was once a huntsman who hanged himself from that oak and was cursed to wear the antlers forever.
