The Rake comes from internet folklore, first passed around on message boards in the mid-2000s. Accounts describe a pale, hairless humanoid about the size of a man, crouched on all fours at the foot of a bed and watching the sleeper until they wake. It has wide black eyes and long, clawed fingers, and it moves in fast, scrambling bursts before vanishing into the dark.
