Menace

The draugr is a walking corpse from the Icelandic sagas, a dead man who never truly left his body. It sits in its burial mound, guarding the treasure buried alongside it, and it kills any grave-robber who breaks in with strength far beyond a living man's. Some draugr, called aptrgangr, leave their mounds entirely to haunt the farms they knew in life, bringing disease and death with them. To destroy one for good, you must wrestle it down, cut off its head, and burn the remains.
