Kasai Rex is a huge reptile that hunts the swamps of the Kasai Valley in the Congo. It is red, striped with black, and large enough to take down and eat a full-grown rhinoceros, which is exactly what a Swedish planter claimed to have watched it do in 1932. Nothing else in the valley grows anywhere near its size. It stays in the deep swamp, where the muddy water hides just how big it really is.
