Menace

The manticore is a man-eating beast with the body of a lion, a human face, and three rows of teeth in each jaw. Its tail is like a scorpion's, tipped with a venomous sting, and it can shoot barbed spines from that tail like arrows at anything out of reach. It swallows its prey whole, leaving nothing behind, not even bones, so its victims are never found. Some accounts say it can imitate a human voice, using it to call travelers close before it strikes.
