Menace

The Okpe is a giant, four-legged ogre from the folklore of the Tehuelche people of Patagonia. Its whole body is made of solid rock, so no spear or arrow can find a soft spot to wound it. It lures children with the smell of roasting meat and carries them off on its back to eat deep in the forest. In one story, a captured boy finally defeats it by leading it across a stretched horse-hide, where the great stone beast slips, falls, and weeps so hard that its tears flood the land.
