Threat

The adze comes from the folklore of the Ewe people of Ghana and Togo, and it hunts in the shape of a firefly. It slips through keyholes and cracks in the wall to reach children while they sleep, and it drinks their blood, preferring infants above all. If it is caught, it changes into an ugly humanoid, and it can crawl inside a person to possess them, so that anyone it possesses is taken for a witch. It spreads malaria and fever wherever it feeds, though it will settle for palm oil and coconut water when no child is at hand.
