Threat

The Amarok is a giant wolf from the folklore of the Greenlandic Inuit, far larger than any ordinary wolf and closer to a spirit than an animal. Where normal wolves hunt in packs, the Amarok hunts alone, and it kills anyone foolish enough to hunt by themselves at night. Not all of its stories are cruel. In one, a weak boy asks the Amarok for strength, and it takes him by the tail and shakes loose the stunted bones that had kept him small, so that he grows up strong.
