Threat

The bauk is a creature from Serbian folklore that hides in dark, forgotten places: cellars, ruins, and abandoned houses. It is a vague, shambling shape that waits in the blackness until someone passes close enough to grab, and then it drags them off and devours them. Light and loud noise are enough to drive it away. Its name comes from "bau," the Serbian version of "boo," the word used to frighten children away from dangerous places.
