Threat

Grimalkin is an old English name for a cat, usually an aging grey female, and in the Scottish Highlands it also means a fairy cat. During the witch trials, both the grey cat and the name became linked to the Devil, and accused witches were said to keep one as a familiar. Shakespeare opens Macbeth on exactly this image: a witch answering the call of hers with the line, "I come, Graymalkin."
