Threat

The hoop snake carries a venomous stinger on the tip of its tail. To catch its prey, it bites that tail, rolls itself into a wheel, and races downhill after its victim, straightening out at the last moment to strike. Its venom is so strong that if the snake misses and hits a tree by mistake, the tree is dead by morning. Its one saving weakness is that it cannot roll uphill.
