Threat

The kamaitachi is a Japanese spirit that rides inside whirlwinds and sudden gusts of wind, moving far too fast to see. Its name joins the words for "sickle" and "weasel." When a gust cuts you and you feel no pain and see no blood until later, a kamaitachi has passed. They are said to travel in threes: the first knocks you down, the second cuts you, and the third smears on a salve that closes most of the wound.
