Menace

A lycan, or lycanthrope, is a wolf-man, and the word comes from the Greek myth of King Lycaon of Arcadia. Lycaon served Zeus a meal of human flesh to test him, and the god punished him by turning him into a wolf. In the old tradition, a man chosen by lot spends nine years as a wolf and can become human again only if he eats no human flesh during that time. The wolf he becomes is larger than any natural one and has no tail, but it keeps the man's own eyes and voice.
