Threat

The Nandi Bear, known to the Nandi people of western Kenya as the Chemosit, is a fierce night predator of the highlands. It is heavily built, with high shoulders and a loping stride, and it hunts whatever it can catch after dark: a straying child, a penned animal, or a person walking alone. It will even tear its way into a hut to reach them, shrieking as it works. The people of the region have feared it for generations.
