Menace

The rompo is a strange, patchwork creature said to haunt parts of Africa and India, built from the pieces of several animals: the head of a hare, the front feet of a badger, and the back feet of a bear. It feeds on the dead, digging up graves and battlefields for bodies. It is a nervous feeder, circling a corpse several times as though afraid it might wake, before it finally settles in. Stranger still, it hums a soft, low tune the whole time it eats.
