Threat

The rougarou is a werewolf of the Louisiana bayou, a man's body under the head of a wolf. Cajun and Creole tradition brought it from the French loup-garou and gave it a rule of its own: the curse lasts one hundred and one days, and the only escape is to draw another person's blood and pass it on, turning yourself human again while the victim takes up the running. Parents tell of the rougarou to keep children out of the swamp after dark, and to keep everyone honest during Lent, when it is said to hunt those who break the fast.
