Threat

A selkie is a seal that can shed its skin and walk on land as a beautiful man or woman. Selkies live along the coasts of Orkney, Shetland, and Ireland, and their most famous story is a sad one. A man finds a selkie woman's sealskin and hides it, forcing her to stay with him as his wife; she bears his children and loves them, but she never stops longing for the sea. One day she finds the hidden skin, pulls it back on, and slips into the waves, gone before the door has closed.
