The Melon Heads live in the woods along the back roads of Michigan, Ohio, and Connecticut. They are small, feral humanoids with swollen, oversized skulls, and they rush out of the trees at cars and people who slow down where they shouldn't. The usual story of their origin is grim: children born with water on the brain, kept in an asylum or by a cruel doctor, who escaped into the forest and turned wild. Whatever the truth of it, the woods belong to them now.
