Threat

There is only ever one phoenix at a time, a bird of the sun with feathers of red and gold, known to the Greeks and, before them, to the Egyptians, who called it the Bennu. It lives for about five hundred years, and when the end approaches, it builds a nest of fragrant wood and lets itself be consumed in fire. From the ashes, a new phoenix rises to begin the cycle again. For this reason the phoenix has always stood for the sun and for rebirth, the creature that dies only to return.
